Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian
Care and Special Needs is an independent government organization. It offers
social and humanitarian services to people with special needs in Abu Dhabi to
support and strengthen their position as active members of the society.
We as HCT students had the opportunity to
visit the center to see and find out more about the educational programs and
services that they provide for the members in the organization. The center was
very well organized that each age group. I was surprised to see some of the
students in the center were wrapping books and other talented students were
working on the computer using Microsoft word, power point, and excel in
entering data into these documents. In addition, the students were making hand
crafts with the ribbons of the UAE flag. They make small objects such as bracelets,
mobile hangers and car stickers. I was amazed that they were able to do work
perfectly fine without any help from their teacher.
I had a great
time with the students in the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and
Special Needs. The students were cooperative and positive. Throughout my visits
to the center, I found out that the center provides rehabilitation and
therapeutic services to support individuals with special needs. They use the
best practices to take care during the rehabilitation time. It was a great
experience for me that I would really like to do it again if I had the chance.
